It's Chunky And Gray

Happy Thursday everyone. One more day, one more day and my precious weekend is here. For some reason this week feels like an eternity to me. Maybe because a few days off for Thanksgiving made me feel this way. I need to snap out of this vacay mode immediately ! This weekend we are taking my son to get some picture made with Santa. He is getting bigger(7 to be exact) and we are thinking that it might be the last year that he will still wanna do it and still believes in a big guy with a red fat suit....Up to this day I still remember how my son's eyes lit up whenever he see Santa handing out presents in our yearly Christmas party at our house. So that will be our plan aside from sneaking in some christmas shopping for gifts, mailing holiday cards and finally making my candied pecans before I eat them all. What about you, any fabulous weekend plans?

On another note: This sweater is so far my favorite buy this season. It is chunky, a bit oversized(for me), comfortable and most of all not itchy. I love it a lot that I been reaching out for it often.

Thank you for taking your time to visit me here, my humble blog. A special thanks to my blogger gal pals Yi-Chia of Always Maylee and Rebecca of Redtagchicsaleslosangles for alerting me about the nasty virus making them unable to access my blog through google chrome browser. The other browsers are fine. Weird, right?

Superhero In Me

I cannot fly, fight crimes and the bad guys, saved the world(hey we recycle, help the needy does this count,no?) or possesed super powers but in our household there is a superhero in me or so I think. Sometimes I wonder how I do all the things I do on a day to day basis. Multi tasking maybe? Have a fulltime job, cook, clean, workout, non stop providing answers to all of my son's questions or listening to all his "did you know that"...  and still manage to blog. My routine is the same until the mister is home again from his work trip. The loads gets better and lighter. I can finally take off my cape and enjoy some me time. A glass of merlot or a chardonnay perhaps !
I refuse to get help no matter how many times the mister suggested the idea of having someone come to our house and clean. I am a bit OCD(obsessive compulsive behavior) when it comes to cleaning and organizing stuff around the house so the idea is a big NO to me. My husband said that why I torture myself and yet we can get help. The offer is thoughtful and sweet and most days very tempting to accept it.
Me as a superhero(or so I think) is nothing compared to the real super out there who risk their lives and make real sacrifices everyday to make our world comfortable and a safe place to lived. My heart goes out to you and your family and thank you for everything you do.

Enjoy the rest of the day and I hope you are off to a great start.

Visiting The Past And Thankful

Hello everyone. As I am writing this post, I can't help but pause and be thankful for all the small and big things that I have in my life and to enjoy and appreciate what truly matters to me- great time with my family, a visit from good friends, yummy food and enjoy the day of gratitude and relaxation. The older I get the more I enjoy and appreciate my sorroundings and my loveones.
Speaking of family we visited this estate that once belongs to my husband's great great grandfather long time ago. In the estate sits a beautiful plantation home that now serves as a restaurant and a sometime bed and breakfast. I love how they maintain the original southern charm and preserve it's beauty. Of course I will not miss an opportunity to take some photos with my favorite sweater dress. Rumor has it that after owning the property for many years the great great grandpa lost the estate to a game of poker.
The current owner told us that there are still some relatives of my husband that lives around the area that frequents the estate and visit and take photos sometimes. The exciting part of her story was that sometimes a ghost will appear on their photos or they will feel a sudden strong push on the shoulders. Unfortunately after I downloaded everything, no ghost was behind me, next to me or anywhere near me which kinda makes my husband a little disappointed. Not even some pat in my back !

Looking at the camera guy !
This horse was so sweet. He actually likes to play and a bit of a show off. I swear he got down on his knees and roll over like a dog.

Lastly, I am thankful for your time and sweet thougths. For without you, I would not enjoy blogging as much I would if you are not part of this journey with me.

Color me berry or color me red

Happy Monday everyone. I am feeling good today for a Monday, work day. I think it is more of the holiday spirit just looming around and all the shopping for the holidays that I cannot wait to begin and gets me more excited just to think about it. It is going to be a short work week for moi since I am taking a few days off from work to spend time with family and friends and do some cooking. Since I am talking about the holidays, I decided to start this great week with some festive color ! Berry or red or whatever you may want to call it. The color of happiness, love, fire and of course holidays ! I had this dress for sometime now and never get the chance to wear it. It fits true to size and luckily only a minor hemming is all I need to do.  The fabric has some interesting textures and no shine which I really like.  My pictures didn't do much justice but these days taking pictures are bit tricky for it gets darker quicker.

What makes you excited and happy lately?

I hope you enjoy Thanksgiving... Gobble, gooble....

Baroque And Blues

Happy Tuesday lovelies. How was your weekend? Oh boy,  I really enjoyed my three day weekend. We went out of town to see the in laws. This are one of those spur of the moments trips we been doing lately. No make ahead plans and it is more like ok let us packed tonight and leave tomorrow kinda thing. And how crazy it is that in merely a week it is Thanksgiving again !!!! On a much related note I found this dress last week and the Baroque print draws my attention right away. It is a print that mixes different prints, such as animal print, floral, chain, rope print – all intertwined and is still continue to be a trend for Fall 2012. But most of all I love that this dress does not require any alteration and the dress is fully lined. The material is of good quality and the prints and colors are more vibrant if you see the actual dress.

I hope you all a great week ahead and enjoy the rest of the day !
